Amazing video! I had the pleasure of working on S02, S03 and TMK, and I can tell you that a LOT of effort went into the colour language (and shape language) in the show.
The cone of vision for a 35mm lens isn't 60 degrees, it's 54.4.
Thanks, im getting newly serious at Photoshop, the amount of Brushes I downloaded but realised I have no idea what I can make out of them so it may aswell have been a simple pencil tool from Paint, But this is awesome cheers bud
If you look close enough you will notice that the chromatic aberration is not red green and blue but red yellow cian and blue
Can i really these for my cartoon?
City 17 in Half-Life 2 conveyed this feeling in an unbelievable way.
Thank you so much this was really helpful and your statement of dr. Draw was really amazing 🙏
Mr. Ang, you're an underrated gem
These videos have been super helpful please continue the series! 🙏
Thanks, dude!
I really appreciate you sharing this! I sometimes forget that talented, experienced artists like yourself also struggle and feel frustration. This is a great reminder that frustration doesn't necessarily mean that you're failing or inadequate. Going to save this for when I feel discouraged in the artistic process.
I fell in love with this show so I'm so happy to see such a good video about it :) Thanks Daniel
I'm so glad I finally got around to reading these. This was soooooo beautiful. And I loved your voice- it was calm and it felt peaceful, relaxing in a way. And your animatic made it even more immersive with the sounds and everything. I honestly don't see how sth like this didn't get first place.
awesome tut Daniel, I appreciate the clarity!! can't wait for the future episodes of this series. have a good one
thank you! it always takes me so much time to do buildings
tbh what set me off first was the purple hoodie. the entire time i was questioning when he (or gwen) had ever worn purple in either film, and then the twist happened and i was like "oh"
My goal is to finish my animation but I luck ipad soo it is pushing me backwards 😢
I wish I could live inside a Hiroshi Nagai painting.
This was a brilliant video.. bingewatching your content and subscribed too. Love the soul you're putting into your content.
Thank you so much for your kind words! Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Could you do a video comparison of the different types of buildings in your favorite media? I know environments say a lot & *Across the Spiderverse* alone makes the different worlds feel alive while speaking volumes on the artists that contributed but I was enamored by *TMNT Mutant Mayhem* & I'm sure there's more you'd like to speak on, maybe Arcane - even the Spiderman Games do interesting things with the buildings
I learned this method in Japan. Technically, this is the illustrator version way of doing it. Japanese people learn to do the fastest method. But I don't like this because it's not panting.
Instead of estimating if you know SOHCAHTOA it's gonna be easy to get distance also if you understand triangle
Is it possible to apply the halftone texture to just one brush? Each time I change brushes it turns off, or if I lock the texture tab, it applies the halftone to my other brushes too. I just want to use a halftone brush without having to fiddle with the settings every time. Thanks.
Have you saved the halftone brush as a new brush after adjusting the settings?
@@DanielAngArt I feel so dumb... Thanks, Daniel! Appreciate you.
Thank you so much man! Life Saving ❤🔥
I’m just 10 minutes in and I want all my art classmates and all my life is strange friends to see this video!!!!
So helpful without the fluff, tysm!
That was great! It helps a lot to analyse why I loved these color palettes so much. 👍
For the explanation of the 42 thing you mentioned for those who don't know, 42 is the meaning of life, at least according to Douglas Adams. He wrote a book called 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy', in which an omniescent supercomputer spends a loooooong time calculating the answer to the question "What is the meaning of life?". The sole answer that the computer gives? "42". That's it. No explanation. 42 being the meaning of life, a meaning of the very being, what sets one up to *be* - that ties in beautifully to the whole canon-events thing and who-you-are.
Amazing. The differences shown on the five point grid were killer
What did purity control?
i'm applying this method to a piece i'm working on right now, do you have any tips on what to paint on rooftops?
It depends on the kind of building, some are fairly simple with a water tower or air conditioner units. I like to add satellite dishes and small fencing, but you could even do a small garden and chairs etc. 😊
I love these so much
Man after I finished entergalatic I felt like something was missing one of those pieces where once you finish it you feel like you’ve lost purpose I wish there were more films/shows like entergalatic but I feel like cudis influence really made the film incredible and so did the rest of the team especially the animation team i found myself pausing the movie when the spacey scenes would play almost like I was hypnotized by it’s beauty.
Been enjoying your videos! Would love to see the next part in this tutorial series
It'll be out this week! Stay tuned 🙏
This guy teaching us to illustrate without charging tuition 🙏
Thank you for tutorial i love it.✨✨
muchas gracias por el video no sabia como hacer pinceles con screentone pero luego tu video me solucionó el problema
Thanks for the video! Do you have a link to download the custom shapes pack?
that's awsome , i have been drawing in years, and i think that will be so helpful and gana change a lot ....thank you
11:30 - Owww, you sod! Thought my TV had died!
Amazing, amazing video! However few questions here: 1. Why should the vanishing points always make 90* degree in total (60/30, 45/45 etc.)? 2. What does this angle represents exactly (the 90 degree one), is that the obejcets will have 90 degree angles or? 3. If our look/view is parralel to the ground, should it always be that the horizont crosses the cone of vision circle right at the center? 4. Do you usually use this tecnhique to put your vanishing points before you start a sketch so they are not completely random? Thanks!
Thank you Simeon! And great questions! 1. The vanishing points add up to 90* to ensure that your objects have a right angle. If the vanishing points are closer together without using this method, it just means your objects most likely won't have 90* angles. Though this is a very technical and precise way of doing it - when doing art, I often just go by feel instead. 3. No, not necessarily. You can actually place the horizon line wherever you want, but it may mean that you'll start to see some distortion from the COV drawn from it. Remember, when looking straight down, the horizon line will shoot up off the page, and an auxiliary vanishing point will be created for objects converging downwards. 4. To be honest, I actually will use perspective grids and guides after a sketch to clean things up. When I'm drawing thumbnails, I focus more on the composition and mood/feeling, and then go in technically afterwards to ensure everything is all good. Hope this helps!
@@DanielAngArt BIG thank you man! Oh so the 90* total degree for vanishing points doesent mean that whatever is drawn will have 90* angles of the form itselv but it will mean that they are rotated in 90 degree within perspective?
Thank you, every explanation you great is helpful and also the guide questions to creating brushes :)
Amazing video what is the ruler tool you use on 8:02 in photoshop for angles?
It's called Lazy Nezumi!
@@DanielAngArt Thanks!
It's not working for me please help 😢
This is so great! I see people using these tools all the time but they never explain what they’re actually doing! Thank you for unlocking the mystery!
Better to just go to keyboard shortcuts and view and put a shortcut instead of mirroring the whole document which lags
please, make tutorials on effects, like grunge effect, greeze, noise.
I'm writing you a comment to tell you that it's useful, and we're waiting for the second part!
I played that game! 0:51
I actually figured the twist out the second I saw miles enter the go home machine. Still the best prediction I’ve ever made
